As much I loved submitting a blog every week, I high doubt I’ll continue after this class is over. If I said yes, I would be lying to myself and my readers and I am no liar, just a stretcher of truths. I’m just why too caught up in my own junk to sit down every week and write a blog. I honestly don’t have patience for it. Also, what would I talk about? My life is not that interesting that I would want to share it with the world, that’s why I don’t have twitter page. I wouldn’t read other classmates’ pages because frankly, I don’t care. Just kidding, I’m too lazy.

Wow, I’ve read a lot books this semester. I guess everyone who had/has Mrs. Lake did too, but I only care about myself. As a gift and requirement, I’ll list the books in order of which sucked less. Enjoy!

1. Midsummer’s Night Dream- Too funny!! Taylor Lautner is the Indian boy and Justin Bieber is a eunuch. He’s not going to be anyone’s baby daddy.

2. Animal Farm- I like history, sue me.

3. 1984- It wasn’t that bad!

4. The Odyssey- I’m a Greek freak.(mythology)

5.Cold Sassy Tree- It made me feel very Black and not from Georgia, but it was cute

6.Speak- It was kind of whiny and depressing, but I’d be moody too if that happen to me.

7. Romeo and Juliet- If I ever act like Juliet, someone should flush my iPod down the toilet, then start running.

8.Ender’s Game- It screamed incest.

9. Fahrenheit 451- They kill books , how can you like it?!?

10. The Glass Menagrie- That Irish dude was way out of line. She should have shoved that unicorn where the sun don’t shine.

11. Great Expectations- Whenever I read this book, my early, onset ADD kicks in.

12. Whirligig- He killed a girl and then built wind toys. Someone give him a Nobel Peace Prize or a cookie, you choose.

Startled By His Furry Shorts

I’m absolutely on love with anything British. The accent, guys, and fashion are my obsessions. Sometimes, I talking in a British accent to make myself feel cooler. It’s lame, but it makes me happy. My fascination with British culture mixes itself into the books I read. One of my favorite authors is a British woman named Louise Rennison. She’s not extremely well-known but some girls have read some on her books like Love is a Many Trousered Thing and Startled By His Furry Shorts. I love her books so much, that I copied her writing style for the style paper. Her books are about a teenager girl who’s dealing with crazy parents, weird friend, even weirder guys in her life. Her style of writing is extremely funny and outrageous. She says things in her books that I’m afraid to say and that makes me respect her. I always pick up one of her books when I’m down and I’m right back up again.

I’m just going to say it: I don’t have a plan. I know I’m suppose to schedule every minute of my day, but I’m not big into schedules. However, I got my progress report today and I don’t think it would hurt if I manged my time better. My grades aren’t vomit worth to some, but they’re heart wrenching to me. I’ll most passed out when I saw them. Anyway, I have to just dig down and look for inspiration, because now, it’s the blind leading the blind.

Everyday at 7:30 pm, my dad and I stop what we’re doing to watch…. Jeopardy!! It’s not a normal tradition, but hey, we’re not normal. I’ve watched Jeopardy with my dad since I was about six. he thought if I exposed myself to culture,… it would become more cultured?? I don’t know. all I knew was I felt smart when I got a question right. I only got like three questions right in a game. I didn’t really care. However, my dad is out if the country of a while, so we have had to take a break. My dad promised me that as soon as he got back, we’d watch all the shows I TIVOed. Go Daddy!!!

To The Window, To The Wall!!

My absolute favorite movie of 2009 was probably The Proposal. It’s one of the funniest movies I’ve seen in a while. I thought that Sandra Bulock was absolutely hilarious. I’ve watched most of the movies she has done like Miss Congeniality and Two Weeks Notice. I think she’s a hilarious actress and I was really excited when she won the Oscar for Best Actress. Ryan Reynolds also made the movie hysterical. their relationship in the movie was extremely believable and crazy. I have to say that my favorite character was that grandma played by Betty White. I think is too funny. I grew up watching the Golden Girls, so it was just icing on the cake to have her in the movie. So from now on, I’m windowing to the wall!

Words Cannot Even Begin To Explain

I really had no idea what to write about for this week’s blog. I feel kind of lost without the prompt. That sounds really sad. I feel slightly abandoned. Thanks a lot Mrs. Lake. I write about my week, but it was too long and sucked. I’ll list the main points.

I got into the Messenger
My dad came to my school for the daddy day
I got a laptop
I went to Costco
My uncle came to town. (Yipee….not)
I missed school on Friday
I got my passport renewed
I got my permit FINALLY (No, I didn’t fail before.)
My family went out to eat for my mom birthday. (It was terrible)
My dad left for Ghana
I got Starbucks
Ghana celebrated their 53rd Independence Day. (I didn’t go a party)
I went to church

That seems like a lot, and it was. I’m so glad this week is over, but next week is going to be worse. I wonder if you can take a rain check on life, because I need one of those.

You Can’t Hurry Love, You Just Have To Wait

I don’t believe in love at first sight between two people who are “attracted” to one another. I think that lust at first sight is possible, but not love. Don’t get me wrong, I love all that mushy romantic stuff, but I don’t believe you can fall in love with just a glance. For all you know, that person who you just fell deeply in love with is an axe murder, now who wishes they hadn’t looked. I also really can’t stand it when people between the ages of thirteen to twenty claim they’re in love. Give me a break!! You’re fifteen!! A date for fifteen year old is ice cream and a movie, PG-13 of course. During that time, when are you going to fall in love, during the previews? I just feel that you’re not emotionally ready for love. If you think are, answer these questions with your significant other:

Would you jump off a cliff for me?
Would you let me come live with you?
Would you sacrifice your most prized possession?
Would you marry me?

If you’re between ages of thirteen and twenty and you said yes to more than two of these, then you either lied or didn’t read the questions. For now, please just live your life and have fun. Save that lovey dovey stuff for old people, like your parents, unless you want to be your parents.

So, Why Did We Break Up?

So for my too good to be true research project, I decided to look at the reasons people stop being friends and how they feel afterwards. Most people have lost a relationship that they were not really sure how it ended. I know I’ve had my share of friends. I actually just realized that I’ve had a lot of friends but I haven’t kept many of them. Maybe I have to analyze myself?

At first, I wanted to conduct an experiment. I was going to find someone who I didn’t really know, become friends with them, dump them, then ask them how they felt. however, I’ve been told that if I go through with it, I’ll be considered a twisted and awful individual. I mean, it was just a suggestion. Anyway, I ready need people to interview. If you have had friendship that abruptly ended and you really didn’t know why, just look for me at school or comment on my blog. Thats it for today. Peace, love, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!!!

HP, Acer, Dell, Toshiba???

Christmas came and went. I’m particularly sad because the one gift that I wanted this Christmas, a laptop, was not bestowed upon me. I know that sounds totally rude and spoilt, but that was all I asked for. Ok, maybe I also asked for the jersey, but it’s all I really wanted. It didn’t even have to be a good one. It could have run on AA batteries and chicken grease and I would have been just fine. However, the reason I didn’t get one was my dad assumed that by the time he had come back from Ghana, I would have done flow charts and Powerpoints comparing the technological advances of each brand name. As if I would actually have the patience for that kind of thing. I’m not a researcher or a planner. I’m a doer. I don’t like lists, charts, and graphs. That’s probably why I’m slightly annoyed and terrified of math. It’s just too organized, but I digress. Anyways, my dad is one of those people. He stays up till like midnight researching things. In the beginning, it’s kind of fun watching him get all techy and in-depth with his research. Then, it gets boring because the websites he goes to don’t have pictures. He becomes super nerd and tends to make my mom not so happy (she’s a doer as well). Then 30 days later, a package arrives and guess what? It’s that thing my dad was looking at on the computer 2 months ago! It’s a never-ending cycle.

So now, I have to figure out exact what laptop I want before my dad leaves on Saturday. Any suggestions?
